Shanghai

Shanghai ,situated just above the spot where the Changjiang River enters the East China Sea, has an area of 6,341 square kilometers and a population of 12.64 million. It is a famous historical and cultural city, and also the country's biggest economic center and an important industrial and technological base. The city now has 10,000 factories and enterprises and 200 joint ventures. Commercial units total 100,000. Tourists regard Shanghai as one of the best places to shop in China. The city's tourist attractions include Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple, the Children's Palace, the Shanghai Museum, and the handicraft stores. Buildings in Shanghai vary greatly in style, and the city is sometimes called "a museum of the world's differemt architectures."
